San Antonio Women’s Lenten Event
“Trapped in Paradise,” the story of four Sisters of Saint Joseph who became trapped on the South Pacific island of Buka during World War II will be the focus of the San Antonio Women’s Lenten event on Monday, March 27, 2017. In her presentation, Sister Eileen McNerney will bring to light the long-forgotten daily journal of Sister Hedda Jaeger in Sister Eileen’s book of the same title. Sister Eileen will also discuss her personal story as well as her involvement with Taller San Jose and the Soldier’s Project.
The day will begin after 8:30 am Mass with a light breakfast of coffee and rolls. Sister’s presentation will be followed by an appropriate Lenten lunch of soup and salad. She will also be available to sign copies of her book which will be available for a donation to the Sisters of St. Joseph. Those funds will be passed on to the Soldier’s Project charity.
The cost of the event will be $20.00. Checks should be made out to San Antonio Church (with SAW event on memo line) and dropped off at the Parish Office no later than Tuesday, March 21. Your checks will be your reservation. If you have any questions, you may call Sheila Cook at (714) 637-4654 or Judi Moallem at (714) 309-8248.
