Joseph and Jeanne Cyprien Family (Tom, Dave, Julie, Mark and Lori)
We moved our family to Anaheim Hills in 1971, when we bought a home on Solomon Drive. On the corner of Solomon and Santa Ana Canyon Road was a large vacant field. Little did we know that was the future site of our beautiful parish church, San Antonio de Padua Del Canon. It was a wonderful experience living so close to church and being able to walk to Mass.
While the church was being built we were near enough to see the daily progress of the construction. When the first Mass was celebrated in February 1981, our son Mark had the honor of being one of the altar servers, an experience he will never forget.
Father Seamus always referred to us as his neighbors and would wave as he drove by if I was out in the front yard working on my flowers. He officiated at each of our children’s weddings and baptized all of our grandchildren. He was always there for us in happy times and sad times. When my husband Joe passed away very suddenly, Father Seamus was right there with his support, comfort, and blessings. His Irish sense of humor was something we all looked forward to and brightened our days.
It has been an honor and a privilege to be a member of this parish as it has grown to be well known throughout Anaheim Hills and the surrounding communities. Having Father Seamus as our pastor and Deacon Doug as our deacon has been a blessing from God for all parishioners. Envelope #167
