Tuesday a.m. Bible Study promotes the sharing of personal experiences as they relate to scriptures as well as other pertinent discussions and prayer so that God’s presence may be better realized.
We are a relaxed group in which we learn together and the only requirements are the desire to learn more about our faith and its foundations and teachings plus the desire for fellowship with and inspiration from other Catholic women.
We have been using the Liguori Press Bible Study Program which provides us with commentary/reflection books to go along with our Bible readings. The series is written by Father William A. Anderson, DMin, PhD. He earned his doctor of ministry degree from St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore and his doctorate in sacred theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. His writing is clear, concise and very illuminating especially for those difficult to understand verses. Liguori's scripture references are from the New American Bible so if you have that edition that would be best to use. That is not mandatory, however.
Our most recent Liguori Press book has been Universal Letters which has included James, 1 & 2 Peter, 1, 2, & 3 John, and Jude. We have chosen specific books for Lent these past few years but this year, 2023, we have chosen a book by Ascension Press called Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life. We did not get this book finished in the spring so we will finish it in October. Our next Liguori Press book will be Acts of the Apostles which will cover the foundations and beginnings of the Holy Church.
In 2022 our Lenten book was Walk in Her Sandals: Experiencing Christ’s Passion Through the Eyes of Women edited by Kelly M. Wahlquist, founder of WINE: Women and the New Evangelization.

If you are interested in gaining a little more understanding of Biblical events, the Jewish culture of the time of Jesus, theological interpretations and symbolism of the writings, and, of course, the path Jesus has plotted out for us to live as Catholic Christians, our group might be of interest to you.
We meet October through June on Tuesdays from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the second floor of the Multi Purpose Room in the Religious Education Building. Come check out the class!
