Then & Now: Pruzinsky Family

MaryEllen Pruzinsky, Envelope # 5

Ken and I along with our two children, Scott,(3) and Jennifer (1mo.) moved into Anaheim Hills from Ohio in 1974. It was a new and developing area; no churches and not much in the way of shopping. It
was exciting to hear that in June of 1977, Bishop Johnson officially formed a new parish in our area. The name was San Antonio de Padua del Canon and the first mass of our new parish was held on October
1, 1977 in the cafeteria of El Rancho Jr. High with our new pastor Fr. Seamus Glynn. The official groundbreaking took place on July 29, 1979, and the building of our church began. The first mass in the new church took place on February 8, 1981 and was formally dedicated by Bishop Johnson on May 17, 1981.

It is interesting to look back and see how our church has grown and developed over time. We have become involved in so many aspects: I was registrar for the religious education program with Sheila Cook, and Scott was one of the first groups of altar servers. Loads of work along with lots of love, laughter and fun times to remember
